Proposal in PGA and approval in CCP
The management team of the CONSMUPA (Conservatory of Music of the Principality of Asturias), in fulfillment of its functions, and on its behalf its director Fernando Agüeira, informs the new faculty that it is from the didactic departments where the initiatives to arise propose in the PGA for its development in this higher center of artistic education. From the Department of Tecla is proposed, among other activities, an interdepartmental activity that comes to pay tribute to the figure of one of the most important composers in history, as Claude Debussy, on the 100th anniversary of his death. The idea is well received and after the pertinent consultations with the educational administration it is decided to deal with the matter for its implementation in the Pedagogical Coordination Committee (PCC) of February 10, 2018.

The agenda item referring to the Debussy project reflected in the minutes corresponding to the PCC held on February 10, 2018 is reproduced below:

“On the project to commemorate the centenary of Debussy that proposed the key department for its development at interdepartmental level, included in the PGA, it is confirmed that, with the title” Debussy 100 “, the appropriate format will be that of” international congress of pedagogy and performative research and musical creativity “. The CCP confirms the dates in which this first congress will take place, in the surroundings of Santa Cecilia in 2018, counting in principle with days 23, 24 and 25 for the congress and possible previous programming, bearing in mind that the 22nd is a day of Open doors in the center. The director of the conservatory names in the CCP as president of the “scientific committee” of the congress the coordinator of the project and head of the department that made the proposal, Prof. Dr. Antonio Soria, who suggests the status of professor to be part of it , and with the unanimity of the members of the CCP, all the department heads with this condition, with the exception of the members of the board, join the aforementioned committee, whose configuration will be determined based on the approach of the congress and the possible collaboration of other entities in the superior or university level.

It is stated that this congress is born with a vocation for continuity, using a common thread or theme each year according to relevant ephemerides in the world of music, and that may suppose a support and development of the lines and research projects of a higher education center. artistic education in the European framework of higher education, in coordination with the idea of a Master whose creation is considered opportune by the educational administration given the recent incorporation of doctoral professors to the staff of the center.”
